During their first meeting since the midterm elections rearranged the power map in Washington, Mr. Obama told Representative John A. Boehner, the incoming House speaker, and Senator Mitch McConnell, the Senate Republican leader, that he regretted not reaching out to them more in his first two years in office and vowed to do better.

I think it’s hilarious that he actually thinks he can reach out to people who’s stated goal is to deny him everything he wants. (Hilarious in the sense that I’d rather laugh than cry) The right as lurched so far right that it’s blatantly obvious they couldn’t care less about the country as long as they destroy Obama. Perfect example: the Stark treaty. The nuclear disarmement treaty has no downsides except Obama wants it. 5 term senator and ardent conservative Richard Lugar comes out to support it and they threaten him with his job…
