More Right-Wing Bias In The Media, This Time From Pew-Research

by Ben Hoffman

12-28-11 #1
What’s missing from this research? How about adding corporatism into the equation. That’s the most dangerous ideology and also where we’re heading with Republicans and a few Democrats in our government. Corporatism is another name for fascism, and is also the ideology of the Republican and Libertarian parties.

A Cow Based Economics Lesson

by Ben Hoffman

SOCIALISM
You have 2 cows.
You give one to your neighbor.

COMMUNISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and gives you some milk.

FASCISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and sells you some milk.

NAZISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and shoots you.

BUREAUCRATISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, shoots one, milks the other, and then throws the milk away.

TRADITIONAL CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND (VENTURE) CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
You sell three of them to your publicly listed company, using letters of credit opened by your brother-in-law at the bank, then execute a debt/equity swap with an associated general offer so that you get all four cows back, with a tax exemption for five cows.
The milk rights of the six cows are transferred via an intermediary to a Cayman Island Company secretly owned by the majority shareholder who sells the rights to all seven cows back to your listed company.
The annual report says the company owns eight cows, with an option on one more.
You sell one cow to buy a new president of the United States , leaving you with nine cows.
No balance sheet provided with the release.
The public then buys your bull.

SURREALISM
You have two giraffes.
The government requires you to take harmonica lessons.

AN AMERICAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You sell one, and force the other to produce the milk of four cows.
Later, you hire a consultant to analyze why the cow has dropped dead.

A FRENCH CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You go on strike, organize a riot, and block the roads, because you
want three cows.

A JAPANESE CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk.
You then create a clever cow cartoon image called a Cowkimona and market it worldwide.

AN ITALIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows, but you don’t know where they are.
You decide to have lunch.

A SWISS CORPORATION
You have 5000 cows. None of them belong to you.
You charge the owners for storing them.

A CHINESE CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You have 300 people milking them.
You claim that you have full employment, and high bovine productivity.
You arrest the newsman who reported the real situation.

AN INDIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You worship them.

A BRITISH CORPORATION
You have two cows.
Both are mad.

AN IRAQI CORPORATION
Everyone thinks you have lots of cows.
You tell them that you have none.
No-one believes you, so they bomb the ** out of you and invade your country.
You still have no cows, but at least you are now a Democracy.

AN AUSTRALIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
Business seems pretty good.
You close the office and go for a few beers to celebrate.

A NEW ZEALAND CORPORATION
You have two cows.
The one on the left looks very attractive.

They forgot one…

CONSERVATIVE CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
The large U.S. milk corporations send its cows to China to be milked by slave wage workers.
You can’t compete, so you go out of business and get a job at Walmart.
Many people get sick and die after drinking Chinese milk contaminated with lead.

Things Conservatives Hate

by Ben Hoffman

Conservatives are not creators; they leave that up to the imaginary being in the sky. They do nothing but destroy. So I thought I’d make a list of things conservatives hate. (Feel free to add to this list.)

Things conservatives hate

  • High-speed rail transportation
  • Anything done that doesn’t make a profit
  • Green energy
  • Democrats
  • Barack Obama
  • Democracy in the United States (because sometimes the other party gets elected)
  • Tax cuts when proposed by Democrats (the Stimulus was 1/3 tax cuts)
  • Atheists
  • Gays (unless they’re self-hating gays like Larry Craig)
  • Legitimate economists (because they always contradict the conservative ideology)
  • Being told they have to buy insurance, even if they already have insurance (they just don’t like being told to do it)
  • Higher education (only the elite should be educated)
  • Science (it’s too hard)
  • Taxes. They’d rather see our infrastructure crumble than have to pay taxes (this would be number 1 if these were in order)
  • Not being at war (Conservatives love to bomb other countries where they get to destroy all sorts of things)
  • Publicly funded art projects
  • Publicly funded TV and radio programs
  • Social Security (unless they’re old enough to collect)
  • Medicare (unless they’re old enough or disabled so they can collect)
  • Any news outlet that doesn’t spin the news to the right
  • Regulation that restricts pollution
  • The environment (unless it involves property where they get to kill animals)
  • The minimum wage ($3 a day is plenty for workers like they’re paid in China)
  • Communism or socialism (unless it’s in other countries where U.S. corporations can exploit their workers)

A World Without Religion

by Ben Hoffman

Isn’t it time we stopped believing in these children’s fairy tails and started embracing science? Religion is responsible for most of the pain and suffering in the world. We were attacked in 2001 by right-wing religious fanatics.

“I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty. […] Only He can relieve me of this duty Who called me to it. It was in the hand of Providence to snuff me out by the bomb that exploded only one and a half meters from me on July 20, and thus to terminate my life’s work. That the Almighty protected me on that day I consider a renewed affirmation of the task entrusted to me…”
~ Adolf Hitler

Hitler referenced God in every one of his speeches. He used religion to gain power and to reign terror throughout the world.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Obama Attends Christmas Service, Right-wingers Outraged

by Ben Hoffman

HONOLULU — President Barack Obama exchanged gifts with his family, sang carols and attended church services as he celebrated Christmas in Hawaii.

The president and his family woke up early Sunday to exchange gifts, the White House said, then had breakfast and sang Christmas carols at the multimillion-dollar house they rent in Kailua Beach, near Honolulu.

Glenn Beck has already expressed outrage that the Obama family participated in a Hanukkah celebration and right-wingers around the country parroted his anger. Obama attending a Hanukkah celebration is apparently is part of the “war on Christmas.” So what will the overly emotional right-wingers find to complain about the Obama family’s Christmas celebration? Right-wingers are angry and scared, so anything that supports those emotions are embraced, even if they’re lies.

Republicans Block Tax Cut – Right-wingers Waiting To Be Told What To Think About It

by Ben Hoffman

Right-winger's Head Explodes

WASHINGTON — House Republicans on Tuesday rejected a Senate bill that would have prevented a payroll tax cut from expiring on New Year’s Day, saying they wanted a year-long extension or no extension at all.

House Republicans accomplished that with a convoluted motion to reject a Senate compromise that would have extended the 2 percent payroll tax break for two months, voting 229 to 193 to send the measure to a conference committee.

Seven Republicans voted with Democrats, and no Democrats crossed the aisle. They were Reps. Charles Bass (R-N.H.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Chris Gibson (R-N.Y.), Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-Wash.), Tim Johnson (R-Ill.), Walter Jones (R-N.C.) and Frank Wolf (R-Va.).

Yep, the world of right-wingers has been turned upside down. For decades, they’ve been told to believe that tax cuts are the answer to everything, and now their party has blocked a tax cut, simply because it was proposed by Democrats. So now they’re waiting to be told how to react. Conservatives have difficulty handling ambiguity and this contradicts the basic tenets of conservatism, which is: tax cuts = good, regulation = bad. It’s only a matter of time before some right-winger’s head explodes.

Obama Proud of His Speech

by Ben Hoffman

The Values That Made America Great Are Not Shared By Republicans

by Ben Hoffman

Obama made a great speech this evening about American values. If you didn’t see it, you can watch it here:
http://video.msnbc.msn.com/nbc-news/45571853#45571853

He talked about American values and how we used to be a country where if you worked hard and were honest, you could make a good life for yourself and your family. Those days are gone. Now we’re a country that rewards reckless behavior and it’s every man for himself. The tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 benefited the wealthiest and put us deep in debt while the rest of the country stagnated. The deregulation and lack of enforcement of existing regulations led to the near total collapse of our economy. And Republicans are fighting tooth-and-nail for any new taxes to help balance the budget and for regulation to prevent another catastrophe. Republicans and right-wingers want to destroy our democracy, which will destroy our country. We’re well on the way towards fascism and so are several other countries as a result of the worldwide economic recession. Right-wingers lie to defend their party just as they did back in 1930s Germany. Time will tell if the result will be the same.

Ignorance is Bliss: Ohio Republican Governor Admits He Doesn’t Read The News

by Ben Hoffman

Doofus

Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) said on Monday he “very rarely” reads newspapers.

“You should know, I don’t read newspapers in the state of Ohio. Very rarely do I read a newspaper,” he said during a speech in Columbus. “Because just like I think presidents have done in the past, reading newspapers does not give you an uplifting experience.”

“Time to time, people will send me articles and things I need to know about. I have found that my life’s a lot better if I don’t get aggravated about what I read in the newspaper,” he added.

Republicans don’t read the news because facts are inconsistent with their version of reality and the version they sell to the public. And if you don’t know the facts, it’s a lot easier to lie.

Republican ideology is based on lies. The Reagan legacy is almost pure myth. Their economic policies are based on lies. Their foreign policies are based on ignorance, which is why they continuously repeat mistakes of the past. You can’t learn from the past if you don’t know the past.

Gov. John Kasich would be a good fit as a republican presidential candidate. For right-wingers, the dumber the better.

No First Amendment Rights in Kansas if You Don’t Like Gov. Brownback

by Ben Hoffman

Fascist Asshole

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas teenager who wrote a disparaging tweet about Gov. Sam Brownback said Sunday that she is rejecting her high school principal’s demand for a written apology.

Emma Sullivan, 18, of the Kansas City suburb of Fairway, said she isn’t sorry and doesn’t think such a letter would be sincere.

The Shawnee Mission East senior was taking part in a Youth in Government program last week in Topeka, Kan., when she sent out a tweet from the back of a crowd of students listening to Brownback’s greeting. From her cellphone, she thumbed: “Just made mean comments at gov. brownback and told him he sucked, in person (hash)heblowsalot.”

She actually made no such comment and said she was “just joking with friends.” But Brownback’s office, which monitors social media for postings containing the governor’s name, saw Sullivan’s post and contacted the Youth in Government program.

Sullivan received a scolding at school and was ordered to send Brownback an apology letter. She said Prinicipal Karl R. Krawitz even suggested talking points for the letter she was supposed to turn in Monday.

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was put in there to protect the public’s rights to speak out against government without fear of retribution. Evidently, to Republicans, that right only applies to criticizing Democrats.

Kansas is the only state in the country to have eliminated all funding for the arts, but they seem to have plenty of money to spy on its citizens. Fascism has arrived in Kansas.

George Carlin Talks About Reagan and the Republicans

by Ben Hoffman

It’s no wonder right-wingers are so angry. They don’t have any comedians on their side (any funny ones, anyway). Their music sucks. They don’t like science because it doesn’t fit their ideology. They have to rewrite history to make it fit their world view. They lie to criticize Democrats and lie to defend Republicans.

Right-wingers are pathetic excuses for human beings, which is why they need religion to provide some comfort that if they believe in some mythological supernatural being, they’ll go to some imaginary place when they die.

Bill Looman Is Un-American and Used The Marines As A Facade For His Anti-American Activities

by Ben Hoffman

Anti-American loon-man

Bill Looman, or more accurately “loon-man” is a hate-filled right-wing asshole who blames Obama for the problems created by George W. Bush and the Republicans in Congress. He claims Obama ruined the economy but can’t name one of Obama’s policies that has actually hurt the economy. He’s just your typical lying right-winger who supports the fascist takeover of America. Some have made the claim that he’s a racist. Could be. But more accurately, he hates our democracy, hate’s our government, hates the responsibility that comes with a democracy, and would like nothing more than to have an authoritarian fascist regime installed in our country. He’s a piece of garbage and should move to Russia if he likes fascism so much. They’re moving towards fascism at a faster rate than we are.

Lyin’ Ass Bitch Demands Appology

by Ben Hoffman

Dingbat

Michele Bachmann has spoken out and demanded an apology for the song played by the Roots, the “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” house band, when she was introduced as a guest Monday night. Bachmann called the song, “Lyin’ Ass Bitch” by Fishbone, sexist and a sign of Hollywood’s bias.

She was unaware of the significance of the song’s title at the time, she said, but was later angered to hear its meaning.

“I think the point is,” she told Fox News’s America’s Newsroom, “if that had been Michelle Obama who had come out on the stage, and if that song had been played for Michelle Obama, I have no doubt that NBC would have apologized to her and likely they could have fired the drummer, at least suspended him, none of that happened from NBC and this is clearly a form of bias on the part of the Hollywood entertainment elite but it’s also I think it’s sexism as well.”

The First Lady was booed by fans at a NASCAR race at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, for which the racing circuit later apologized.

Like all right-wingers, Michele Bachmann is a pathological liar. Below are some sites that keep tract of some of Michele Bachmann’s lies.

Of course, some right-wing sheep will post a response and claim that Obama lied when he promised unemployment wouldn’t go over 8% if the Stimulus bill was passed, which of course, is a lie. He never “promised” that.

Paul Krugman: Newt Gingrich Is ‘A Stupid Man’s Idea Of What A Smart Person Sounds Like’

by Ben Hoffman

On This Week with Christiane Amanpour, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman gave his two cents about why Republican support is beginning to coalesce around Newt Gingrich, with a snarky barb thrown in for good measure. “It was his time, the Republican base doesn’t want Romney and they keep looking for an alternative, and Newt — although somebody said ‘he’s a stupid man’s idea of what a smart person sounds like,’ but he is more plausible than the other guys they’ve been pushing up.”
