Update: God Kills 200 People In Red States In Act of Revenge

by Ben Hoffman

God is really pissed at right-wingers who are destroying not only our country but the entire world. He wants people to be able to enjoy life, but conservative policies have created widespread misery and now they’re paying for it.

PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. — The death toll in five Southern states rose sharply Thursday morning to nearly 200 after devastating storms ripped through the region, spawning a deadly tornado in downtown Tuscaloosa, Ala., and leaving a trail of flattened homes and buildings in an area already battered by storms. States of emergency have been declared from Alabama to Virginia, and President Obama said in a statement that the federal government had pledged its assistance.

  1. Seriously? And I suppose you believe as the Westwood Baptist Church claims, that God is killing soldiers because of homosexuality?
You know, there are actually a lot of liberal democrats in those states too. I suppose God is only targeting the conservative’s homes?

    • Actually, I find the whole concept of God kind of childish. 🙂

      • Regardless of a persons political ideology, it’s nice to have a President respond so quickly to a natural disaster, unlike the previous President during Katrina. For that I honestly do praise the President, even though I disagree with most of his politics. I live in one of the red states that you love to vilify. Call it parody, call it intellectualism, call it want you will, but headlines such as these just show you to be petty, crass, and throughly insensitive to the suffering of innocent people. Liberals love to act as if they have this great empathy for all humankind, all the while chastising conservatives for their selfishness. Once again you prove the hypocrisy of not only liberals but of any extremist, reaffirming that you are no better than even the staunchest conservative zealot. At the risk of sounding “childish” in your eyes, God forbid that a natural disaster should befall your town and kill your friends and family only to have a sleazy blogger such as yourself sensationalize others’ tragedy in order to gain visits. In that regard there is absolutely no difference between the Phelps family, their “church”, and yourself. I don’t expect you to approve this other than possibly the first two sentences, nor do I really care. This is meant for you and you alone. I had hoped, by coming to your blog, that I had found someone with an intelligent, well written, extremist position with whom I could play devil’s advocate. Instead I have found the national inquirer, full of unsubstantiated claims that prove just how ignorant people can be. Since I have no desire to waste my money on supermarket tabloids, similarly, I no longer have any desire to waste my time on your tabloid blog.

      • [Liberals love to act as if they have this great empathy for all humankind]

I don’t pretend to have empathy for all humankind. Right-wingers have destroyed our country. I don’t have any empathy for you people.

        I also hate Russians. 🙂

  2. That’s the best you can do…label me a right-winger? Really? Once again unsubstantiated claims that don’t reflect the facts. After all I condemned both the left and right. Why not just label me a racist for saying that I didn’t agree with most of the President’s policies. That seems to be a favorite tactic of the left when anyone has a different view. Tell you what…I’ll play just a bit longer. How did right-wingers destroy our country. Keep in mind you didn’t say “are destroying’. You said “have destroyed”. As I type this, this nation is still in existence under the same name, USA, with the same liberal President. So please enlighten the rest of the world that, apparently, missed the news of the destruction of the US.

    • [That’s the best you can do…label me a right-winger? Really? Once again unsubstantiated claims that don’t reflect the facts.]

You labeled me a “liberal” and then you get all pissy when I call you a right-winger. Oh, let me guess… You’re an “independent” or maybe a “libertarian.” Either way, you wouldn’t vote for a democrat if Jesus was the candidate. Your views are right of center and that makes you a right-winger.

[How did right-wingers destroy our country. Keep in mind you didn’t say “are destroying’. You said “have destroyed”.]

That’s right, it has been destroyed. We’re barely holding on by a thread. Right-wing policies destroyed our economy. Our free trade policies have resulted in the outsourcing of many of our jobs to China, which created high unemployment here. Right-wing deregulation (Gramm-Leach-Blily Act) resulted in the banking crisis and bailout. Right-wing deregulation of commodities (Commodities Futures Modernization Act) resulted in speculators driving up the price of oil. Right-wing policies got us involved in two unwinable wars at a cost of some three trillion dollars. Right-wing deregulation on credit cards is destroying lives. Credit card companies can now charge 30% interest at a time when they’re paying near zero interest to borrow money. Our elections can now be openly bought by large corporations, even foreign owned multi-national corporation, thanks to the right-wing SCOTUS Citizen’s United ruling. Right-wing policies have driven up the cost of public higher education.

But the catastrophic damage was done by the Bush tax cuts that have put us so deep in debt, we’re now paying 1/2 trillion dollars a year just on the interest on the debt. How the hell are we ever going to pay down a 14 plus trillion dollar debt? In another year, it’s going to be over 15 trillion dollars.

And Obama is hardly a “liberal” president. You’re just so far to the right that anything left of center looks radical.

  3. and now they’re paying for it.

    Are you still at this?

  4. I didn’t get pissy that you called me a right-winger, I asked if that was the best you could do. The facts do not bear out that I’m a right-winger, but they do bear out that you are a liberal. This country HAS NOT been destroyed, as it is still in existence. Your assertion to the contrary is nothing more than fear-mongering in the absence of a rational argument. Rather than admit that after 2 years on the job that the problems are now Obama’s, you continue, in the same old liberal fashion, of blaming a man who has been out of office for the same 2 years that Obama has allowed the country to continue to spiral into the abyss. Just because it is spiraling down doesn’t mean it can’t be pulled back up. Did Obama inherit the mess? Yes he did. But this is the job HE campaigned for. What has he done since except make excuses and blame everyone but himself. You can argue about his policies all your want and all the good he has done, but at the end of the day the economy is still in the crapper and stinking more every day. HE is the leader of the nation. If he is not capable of working with a hostile House of Representatives, then I say he is not capable of holding the office. This is not a fault of the right, but a result of Obama’s own shortcomings. After all Bill Clinton was able with work a hostile Congress.

Are you honestly blaming the right for credit card interest rates? You say deregulation by the right is causing interest rates to rise even though Obama passed the so-called “credit card bill of rights” which did nothing but cause these companies to raise the rates for everyone before the law took affect. Most experts said this was going to happen. But nothing would stop our President, and then the left turns around and blames the right when it does happen.

I do not agree with SCOTUS ruling, in any way, on corporation donations to political candidates, but that just brings it into the light, rather than sending it though fourth and fifth parties. Now we KNOW who is being bought. And we can choose not to vote for that candidate. Of course, chances are that there would no one to vote for, on the right or left, because they are ALL in bed with corporate donors and special interest groups. All in all, though, it was one of the worst rulings since…well that’s a topic for another day.

Again you are correct that oil should not be a publicly traded commodity. The problem is that we only produce a very small amount of the oil on the market, so how do we control what other countries do with their nationally owned commodities without going to war…over oil, which you liberals hate with a passion? Of course if the liberals and our President weren’t blocking our ability to drill our own oil, while at the same time subsidizing other nations drilling efforts with our tax dollars, maybe we would gain some control over the controversial issue. Of course, then the argument is the hazard to environment. Oh, the wheels on the bus go round and round… Liberals fail to realize that you can’t have your cake and eat it, too.

You speak of deficits and bailouts as if Bush invented the terms. Yet both Presidents, acting against the will of a slight majority of the people, used billions to bail out corporations and banks deemed to large to fail. In 2006 Bush wanted to place regulations on Freddie and Fannie to stop the mortgage lending to those that couldn’t afford it. Of course the Democrat controlled Congress blocked him because they wouldn’t want to end the program started by Bill Clinton. So the housing market crashed, leading to the recession in banking and other areas, because unqualified buyers were allowed to obtain govt. backed mortgages, even though they didn’t meet the credit and income requirements. This was one of Clinton’s policies and Bush let it continue for nearly 5 years, but yet you place every bit of the blame on Bush and the right.

Obama has created a larger deficit than ALL other administrations COMBINED. Regardless of the reasons, this is fact. Yet you blame Bush and the right for all the interest payments. At what point does some of the blame begin to fall on Obama, who, after all, has been our leader for a little over two years? Or does he and the liberals only take credit for their actions that actually work out for the best and blame someone else when their actions fail.

Outsourcing jobs under NAFTA was proposed under Bush Sr. but was implemented under Bill Clinton, yet you once again solely blame the right.

You are mistaken about the number of wars. We are now in three wars. Then Senators Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton voted to extend funding for the first two. Yet you solely blame Bush and the right. Current President Barrack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are leading the charge in the third war. And make no mistake, the US IS NATO, regardless of what this current administration would have you believe. Isn’t it amazing that you conveniently leave out Libya, as if it is costing us nothing. Or are you trying to make a case to somehow blame that on Bush and the right, as well?

You are correct that Obama, only recently, is not acting like a liberal president. That’s because a slight majority do not like the direction the country is headed under his leadership and his poll numbers are dropping. When democrats had control of both houses of Congress, he was very liberal, as evidenced by his works and actions. I voted for Obama, but unlike most liberals don’t consider him Jesus (amazing for someone that claims religion is childish and cult beliefs, you invoke His name so frequently). Unfortunately I have become increasingly dissatisfied with his leadership and choose to commit the “sin” of speaking out against his failing administration. And once again, you resort to the tired liberal tactic of labeling anyone that disagrees with you as a right-winger. Well if NOT being a right-winger means being as close minded as you, then I would prefer to be so far on the right as to make Glen Beck look like a socialist. Then again, you are so far left, that anything that doesn’t take all my money and give it someone else looks right-wing.

    • You’re just repeating the talking points you hear, facts be damned.

[Rather than admit that after 2 years on the job that the problems are now Obama’s, you continue, in the same old liberal fashion, of blaming a man who has been out of office for the same 2 years that Obama has allowed the country to continue to spiral into the abyss.]

That’s true. Obama didn’t create the current crisis, and nearly all efforts to correct the problems have been thwarted by Republicans. What has passed has been so watered down to garner a few Republican votes that they have not been as effective as they could have been, but the stimulus did indeed create or save millions of jobs. That’s a fact. It is improving our infrastructure, our electric grid, providing money for renewable energy R&D, high speed rail, education…

[After all Bill Clinton was able with work a hostile Congress.]

Bill Clinton signed some of the legislation that created the mess in the first place.

[You say deregulation by the right is causing interest rates to rise even though Obama passed the so-called “credit card bill of rights” which did nothing but cause these companies to raise the rates for everyone before the law took affect.]

That’s about as misinformed as you can get. I defy you to post a link where any economist blames the high rates on the credit card bill of rights.

[I do not agree with SCOTUS ruling, in any way, on corporation donations to political candidates, but that just brings it into the light, rather than sending it though fourth and fifth parties.]

No, it opened the floodgates to corporate donations. There is nothing good about it.

[Of course if the liberals and our President weren’t blocking our ability to drill our own oil, while at the same time subsidizing other nations drilling efforts with our tax dollars, maybe we would gain some control over the controversial issue.]

Again, another right-wing talking point. While some drilling has been blocked to protect our environment, that has nothing to do with the current high prices.

[In 2006 Bush wanted to place regulations on Freddie and Fannie to stop the mortgage lending to those that couldn’t afford it.]

Another right-wing talking point. The proposed regulation would have made the situation worse. And Fannie and Freddie were only a small part of the problem, but you low-information voters believe the propaganda that they were to blame for it.

[Obama has created a larger deficit than ALL other administrations COMBINED.]

That’s a crazy statement. Obama’s deficits aren’t even as large as Bush’s final year deficit. Look it up. But what exactly did Obama do to create the current deficits? What specific legislation passed by the Obama administration was responsible for the huge deficits?

[Outsourcing jobs under NAFTA was proposed under Bush Sr. but was implemented under Bill Clinton, yet you once again solely blame the right.]

NAFTA is indeed partially responsible, and free trade is a core tenet of conservative ideology. But the free trade policies with China are what did our economy in.

[You are mistaken about the number of wars. We are now in three wars.]

Technically, we’re in five: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, and Yemen.

[Then Senators Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton voted to extend funding for the first two. Yet you solely blame Bush and the right.]

Yep, Bush started the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and totally fucked them up. They’re his wars. Once you start a war, it’s not so easy to get out.

[Isn’t it amazing that you conveniently leave out Libya, as if it is costing us nothing.]

Nope, you’re a liar. I’ve made posts condemning our involvement in Libya and the money we’re wasting on it.

[I voted for Obama, but unlike most liberals don’t consider him Jesus ]

Nope, most liberals are disappointed with Obama’s repeated capitulation to Republicans and failure to fight for progressive ideals.

[Unfortunately I have become increasingly dissatisfied with his leadership and choose to commit the “sin” of speaking out against his failing administration.]

Nope, you never mention any specifics. You’re just brainwashed like the other low-information voters.
