American Heros: ‘Line of Love’ protesters overwhelm Christian terrorists

by Ben Hoffman

Choosing to fight fire with fire, dozens of protestors circled the church where Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral was held on Saturday. What were they protesting? Other protestors.

Edwards was the wife of former presidential candidate John Edwards and she passed away earlier this week from cancer. NewsFeed reported that the notorious Westboro Baptist Church was planning on picketing Edwards’ funeral. The church is known for holding anti-homosexuality protests at American soldier’s funerals, claiming that American war casualties are due to God punishing the U.S. for tolerating homosexuality.

Not wanting to see the same disrespect brought to Edwards’ funeral, people showed up en masse to counter-protest the church’s hateful message. Calling themselves the Line of Love, the anti-protest protestors shouted and chanted to drown out the voices of Westboro. Reportedly, only five protestors from Westboro showed up and they left shortly after 12:30.

More than 12,000 people showed up to mourn Edwards.
