Glenn Beck’s Sponsor Goldline Under Investigation By Los Angeles D.A. For Fraud

by Ben Hoffman

Goldline, more popularly known for its high-profile endorsements from Fox News’ Glenn Beck and former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, is under investigation by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office and was the subject of Monday night’s “Nightline” on ABC.

Authorities in Los Angeles began the investigation after receiving over 100 complaints from consumers who claimed to have lost thousands of dollars after investing with Goldline and Superior Gold Group, a company based out of Santa Monica, California.

There are two main types of complaints we’re seeing. One is that customers say that they were lied to and misled in entering into their purchases of gold coins. And the other group is saying that they received something different from what they had ordered.

Once they get people on the phone, they basically steer them into these so-called collectible coins, and that’s where the rip-off becomes really profound.

  1. And Obama donors (sponsors) are accused of corruption in Chicago and Illinois. So your point is…?

    • My point is, your prophet Glenn Beck is playing you right-wingers for fools. He makes tens of millions of dollars a year pretending to be just a regular guy but he couldn’t care less about the working class.

  2. First, he’s not my prophet. I’m not really a Beck fan anyway. Don’t watch. And I don’t care how much money he makes, so long as its legal. How much does lefty Arianna Huffington make playing the left? Or Geo. Soros? Don’t care.

  3. You throw around the “lie” word a lot. Seems to me that whatever they say on Fox News or really anywhere, that you disagree with you call a lie. Is that kind of like Obama and the Dems saying that health insurance premiums won’t go up and you can keep your insurer if you want, if Obamacare passes? All over the news, not just Fox, that those thiongs are in fact NOT happening. Premiums are going up and policies are being dropped because of Obamacare. Was HE lying?

    • [Is that kind of like Obama and the Dems saying that health insurance premiums won’t go up]

He didn’t say that, you liar. But they’re probably just using it as an excuse for more rate increases. All the more reason for a public option.

      • Back in February at the summit.

“Sen. Lamar Alexander (R., Tenn.) touched off a debate with President Barack Obama, saying that the Democrats’ bill wouldn’t actually lower most consumers’ insurance costs. The president replied that the Congressional Budget Office, the nonpartisan scorekeeper on Capitol Hill, had found the Senate bill would lower insurance premiums by 14% to 20%. As to the criticism that it could send premiums up, he said, that’s only because certain consumers would be buying more-comprehensive coverage. “They didn’t say that the actual premiums would be going up,” Obama told Alexander.”

      • Keep your coverage?

        Last July per Obama,

““Let me be exactly clear about what health care reform means to you,” the president told residents of the Garden State. “First of all, if you’ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you.””

      • News today,

“Millions of seniors face double-digit hikes in their Medicare prescription premiums next year unless they shop for cheaper coverage, a new analysis of government data finds.

Premiums will go up an average of 10 percent among the top 10 drugplans that have signed up about 70 percent of seniors, according to an analysis of Medicare data by Avalere Health, a private research firm. …

More than 3 million seniors will see their plans discontinued, according to Avalere. Medicare says all but 300,000 will be seamlessly switched to another plan offered by the same insurer, but the Avalere data suggest it may not be that simple.

Medicare “is really reshaping the market,” said Mendelson. “There are a lot of plans that are shutting down.””

      • From the AP yesterday,

“WASHINGTON — Millions of seniors face double-digit hikes in their Medicare prescription premiums next year unless they shop for cheaper coverage.
A new analysis of government data finds that premiums will go up an average of 10 percent among the top plans that have signed up some 70 percent of seniors. That’s according to Avalere Health, a private research firm that crunched the numbers.”

“More than 3 million seniors will see their plans discontinued, according to Avalere. Medicare says all but 300,000 will be seamlessly switched to another plan offered by the same insurer, but the Avalere data suggest it may not be that simple.”

Like your plan and want to keep it? I don’t think so.

      • That’s exactly right. The CBO said premiums wouldn’t be going up.

      • Obama: “They didn’t say that the actual premiums would be going up,” Obama told Alexander.”

And O agreed with CBO. But they are going up. He lied.

And to the “you can keep your plan” lie…your response is…

  4. I have a question Ben. In your opinion, where is a source for unbiased news?
