So is this a metaphor? The box is healthcare, the Democrats are trying to turn it “on” yet every time they do the Republicans come out of a dark hiding place to immediately shut it off and slink back into their hole?

Aaaaaand if it is metaphorical, it is a metaphor of the ideal Republican(party) government.
The hand is the people trying to get from government what they need and have paid for with their taxes, and the little thingamabob(a technical term) is the…umm…thingamabob of limited government, which pops up and stops them every time.

I take it later in the week there will be a new topic extolling the virtues of our new health care boondoggle . All of the pathetic victims being paraded out by President Obama will magically have their lives saved, even though benefits do not kick in for four years .
Does anyone think that the money piling up for four years in a lock box for Obama-care, will not be touched for other things ? Having those billions in front of Congress is like putting heroin in front of junkies and believing it won’t be touched .
Obama-care is being passed by sleazy methods as befits it’s supporters in Congress .

You must be better informed than me . I did not know Bush’s wars were passed by reconciliation .
I am trying to find out what Republicans passed using the so called deem and pass slaughter rule . I know you will crow about how often Knute used it . I just have not been able to determine whether it was used to make the same fundamental changes as now .

Yeah, I never heard of this deem it passed option, but it’s justified. We elected Obama and the dems to fix some of the problems and they’re doing whatever it takes to overcome the obstructionists, and that includes some dems.

I know you are wiser than me in certain areas, especially concerning President Obama’s agenda and ideas . Much of what the man says goes right over my head . He said something lately which puzzles me . So I humbly come to you .
He said that under health care reform your employer could give you a raise because his insurance premiums for health care would drop 3,000% .
I’m pretty good in math, but I admit this one is too much for me . If you dropped the premium cost by 100% then you pay zero . What do you pay when it is dropped 3,000% ?

It was used as proof of how stupid they are . Even things that Tina Fey said were attributed to Gov. Palin . I just decided to use your standards to judge Barry .
At any rate I am quite sure that $3,000 is not only wrong, but that your hero knows it is wrong . That would make him dishonest . Like every time he looks in to a camera and moves his lips . You really don’t care whether his words are true, do you ?
But it is just like when Clinton lied under oath and your side defended him by saying it was only sex . No it was perjury under oath . No it was sexual harassment of a subordinate . Neither of which can get a Democrat fired .
But just as Obama-care is not about insuring the uninsured, it is only about power and winning . You don’t care what is in the Bill . You don’t even know . It is only about winning . Winning means more of the economy under big government control, which means Democrats . Wait,,,,just more Conservative Talking Points,,,,right ?????? But what if it were true ?

I must be growing on you . I remember when you called me a f*****g a****e .

I was in my 40s and could outrun many of the 13 year olds I coached in soccer . Of course now that I’m in my 50s, every time I start to get back in to shape, I get injured . A week ago I fell on my face jogging . I had gotten up to 2 and a half walk-run miles and then I could barely walk . Did run a quarter mile today, but I’m not the man you are, to challenge a 25 year old to anything .
In my day I was proud to run a 38 and a half minute 10k . But that day was a quarter century and 30 pounds ago . I’ll tell you who is old, I am . 🙂

I’ve never been much of a runner but I can sprint pretty good, so tennis is a good game for me. It’s easy on the body, although I rolled my foot last year and could hardly walk for a week. Now I wear an ankle support for protection.
I have about 25lbs of excess weight (mainly in my gut) to lose to get back to where I want to be, about 190lbs.

Maybe you’re right, but it certainly was more than an idiot . I was tired from work and pushing myself . I did not concentrate on my foot work . Injuring my hand saved me from leaving my teeth on the concrete . My toe was the real problem . Like a true idiot I tried to run another 2 miles after I got up . Next day I barely could walk .
Today I did a half mile and can still walk, so maybe my incredible right wing recuperative powers will save me . If not there is always Obama-care . 🙂 I sure hope my Congressman, Paul Kanjorski is getting at least a couple $ billion for Pennsylvania out of it . I’d hate to think he let Obama get off cheap .

Your after the fact advice is as useful as what I get from my wife . ” Well why weren’t you more careful? ” I don’t know, guess I just like pain . Or when looking for stuff that has disappeared off the face of the earth I hear, ” Well did you look every place ? ” Wow, if only I had thought of that .

I generally do not do well hunting in Pa. Mostly because I do not have access to private land, which is where the only good hunting is in my State. So after my usual failure at the end of the season, my spouse will show me pictures in the local paper of monster deer that were shot . ” Why don’t you go where these guys go, dear ? ” I had never thought of that. 🙂
