A moron in SC named Marc Torchi was torching leaves in his back yard — something he claims he did every week — when the fire got out of control and may have set off the largest South Carolina wildfire in three decades. The fire has destroyed more than 70 homes and scorched 31 square miles, causing an estimated $16 million in damage.
Torchi, thus far, has been fined for burning leaves in his yard and he has been receiving death threats from people who lost their homes and possessions. Torchi blames the firefighters for the blaze. He claims they put it out twice but didn’t come back to check on it after that. Torchi may be a little nutty.
